Have you noticed any soft protruding portion on your armpit or neck? Then, it must be skin tags. Don’t worry because skin tags won’t cause any major harm and can be removed easily.
Dr. Deepali Bhardawaj, Dermatologist and anti-ageing expert told HerZindagi that “Skin tags are also known as achrodons. If you spot these on your body, then you should avoid friction. To get rid of these people try various remedies, but it is necessary to consult a doctor before trying these at home.”
So, here are some effective home remedies to get rid of skin tags.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is an essential part that will help to treat your skin conditions. You can also use it to get rid of skin tags. Just apply some tea tree oil on the affected area with a cotton swab. Do remember to wash it before applying the oil.
Cover it with a clean cloth and let it rest overnight. Tea tree oil has some amazing antibacterial and antifungal properties that will give you instant results. However, be careful before applying it on sensitive skin as it may cause irritation. Also, keep it away from your eyes.
Removal creams can be effective in some cases, therefore, you can try these. Before applying this cream, clean the skin with an alcohol wipe and file down the tag. Now, apply the cream to ensure that the skin fully absorbs it.
The tag should fall off in about 2-3 weeks. However, you should be careful while buying this cream and avoid products that contain salicylic acid as it can cause irritation.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Soak a ball of cotton in apple cider vinegar (apple cider vinegar benefits for the skin) and wipe it on the affected region. Cover it with a clean cloth and let it be for about 30 minutes. Then, wash it off with warm water. The acid content present in the apple cider vinegar helps in disintegrating the skin tags from the surface of the skin. However, it is necessary to consult your doctor before using it.

Skin Tag Removal Bands Or Patches
Skin tag removal bands can be effective as they cut off the supply of blood to the base of the skin. Without the supply of blood, the tag will fall off on its own. This process is known as litigation.
You can also use removal patches that contain medication and if left on for several days or weeks, then the tag may come off. However, these don’t always work, therefore, it is better to consult a doctor.
Some reports show that liquid iodine can be beneficial to remove skin tags. If you are planning to do this, then make sure to first protect the skin surrounding your tag by applying either coconut oil (benefits of coconut oil) or petroleum jelly to it. Now, soak a cotton swab in iodine and spread the liquid across the tag. Now, cover the area with a bandage until the iodine dries out. Try this twice a day until you see the results.
