India is gradually becoming a hotspot in the beauty industry and one of the reasons is the booming cosmetic industry. With a range of options, from subtle tweaks to transformative makeovers, beauty seekers can opt for beauty enhancement surgeries without booking a trip to abroad. Our expert, Nandan Gijare, Managing Director of I2CAN, shared his insights on things a beginner should know before going for a cosmetic procedure in India. Read on to learn more.
Gijare said, “In the past few years, cosmetic procedures have gained immense popularity in India. The trend for getting Botox or a hair transplant was limited to a very specific class of society a few decades back but, the situation has changed drastically. We also see a surge in the number of male patients, which means these procedures are now becoming equally popular among men. One can get a variety of treatments done these days including acne prevention and treatment, anti-pigmentation treatment, skin-lightening treatment, anti-ageing treatment, facial uplift and toning, and permanent hair and tattoo removal.”
Nandan mentioned, “One should carefully analyse what to expect and how to get these procedures done properly, before taking a final call. With the right planning, one can enjoy a much better experience and enhanced results with these procedures.”
“One should always remember that these procedures cannot give a permanent solution; hence, they need to be repeated after a certain period to maintain the results,” said Gijare.

He added, “One should never expect the aesthetician to do everything. Every treatment requires to take certain precautions before and after the treatment for maximum results.”
“Before finalising an aesthetician for treatment, do thorough research and book a well-qualified, trained, and experienced one with good reviews,” shared Nandan.
He continued, “Cosmetic procedures generally take time to start showing results. In some cases, the waiting period can be as long as 9 months to a year.”
“One must always avoid setting unrealistic expectations from these procedures and stay intact with the fact that it is slightly different from the glamorous world,” shared the expert.
“One must always continue to follow the regular skincare regimen to maximise the results,” Nandan pointed out.
“Undergoing a cosmetic procedure in India can be a life-changing decision, and it is crucial to approach it with a certified cosmetologist and trained aesthetician after careful consideration and thorough research. It is also essential to maintain realistic and attainable expectations and embrace realistic outcomes when considering a cosmetic procedure,” he concluded.
