5 Yoga Poses Pregnant Women Can Perform In Their First Trimester

    Yoga is a lightweight exercise that can help women stay fit during pregnancy. We spoke to Kamlesh Singh, Yoga Instructor in Lucknow, about lightweight poses expecting women can in the first trimester. We suggest you confirm with your doctor before exercising.

Bhadrasana (Butterfly Pose)

    Butterfly pose is when you sit comfortably on the ground, fold your knees and bring your feet together. 

Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)

    Trikonasana helps you stretch your muscles. It helps to unwind any knots in the body and maintains movements of the legs, hands and back. 

Marjariasana (Cat Pose/Cow Pose)

    The cat and cow pose is helpful for the core as well as the back. Women who experience back pain during pregnancy can do this pose after consultation with their doctor.

Parvatasana (Mountain Pose)

    Mountain pose is when you bend forward and elevate your hips. It helps to maintain the strength of the back. 

Shavasana (Corpse Pose)

    Shavasana is the easiest pose to nail for pregnant women. It allows you to meditate, gather your thoughts and ward off negative vibes.
