The trailer for ‘Squid Game’ season 3 was unveiled on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Netflix’s Tudum fan event, revealing Gi-hun grappling with the mysterious forces behind the deadly games. “Why didn’t you kill me? Why did you keep me alive? Why did you let me live?” he asks in the trailer.

The preview also shows contestants navigating a confusing maze and facing a perilous game of jump rope, culminating in Gi-hun confronting the Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun. You can watch the trailer below.

In this final season, Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) returns to the brutal games following the failed rebellion that closed season 2. The stakes are higher than ever, with the challenges becoming even deadlier.

Season 2 ended on a tense cliffhanger, with the games left unfinished and Gi-hun along with his allies once again captured. After winning the first Squid Game, Gi-hun aimed to destroy the competition from within. The seven-episode second season followed his efforts, culminating in a shocking finale where he was confronted and defeated by the Front Man, revealed to the viewers but not yet to Gi-hun as Player 001. The Front Man also executed Gi-hun’s close friend, Player 290 Park Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan), as a stark warning about the price of rebellion.

The Season 3 trailer hints that Gi-hun may finally be closing in on the truth behind the games. One scene shows him, dressed sharply, walking through the Front Man’s chambers. signaling a deeper infiltration. In another scene, the Front Man is seen removing his mask while a chilling voice-over asks, “Player 456, do you still have faith in people?”
