Directed by Shivam Nair, 'The Diplomat’ is a political thriller movie starring John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb and is set against the backdrop of India–Pakistan relations. The plot of the movie revolves around, “An Indian diplomat who tries to repatriate an Indian girl from Pakistan, where she was presumably forced and deceived into marrying against her will”, as stated by IMDb. The story is inspired by the real-life case of Uzma Ahmed, who made her way back to India in 2017.

4. ‘Bohurupi’ 

‘Bohurupi’ is a Bengali vigilante heist action thriller movie directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee. This Bengali heist thriller follows Bikram, a man wrongfully imprisoned who becomes a master of disguise to challenge a corrupt system. The movie focuses on, “Bikram, an honest jute mill worker wrongfully imprisoned for murder, turns to a life of crime after his pleas get ignored. He begins to rob banks in disguise, evading SI Sumanto in a thrilling chase”, according to Zee5. The movie takes inspiration from a series of real-life events that happened between 1998 and 2005.
