Dear X Ending Explained: The K-drama ‘Dear X’ kept viewers hooked with its sharp look at celebrity culture, psychopathic personality, complicated relationships, and the hidden wounds behind glamour. By the time the final episode arrived, the story had built up plenty of tension around the truth, redemption, and the characters’ personal choices. The drama released on November 6, 2025, has been getting a very strong response from the audience worldwide for its gripping storyline and stellar cast performance. If you’ve just finished watching ‘Dear X’ or just want a quick recap of what happened, this article will help you understand how the things went in ‘Dear X’ finale:
Towards the end of 'Dear X’, the hidden crimes of Baek Ah‑jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung) come to light in a brutal and stirring way. The dramatic exposure of Ah‑jin’s secrets is planned during a high‑profile award night, the very moment she wins ‘Best Actress’. As she gives her acceptance speech on stage, a documentary‑style broadcast begins showing footage and confessions that chronicle her manipulations, crimes, and the murders she was involved in.
Among the key revelations: evidence of past murders, manipulative relationships and a confession by Yoon Jun-seo (or footage connected to him) exposing how she used others for her ambition. A close friend, Kim Jae-oh (played by Kim Do-hoon), sets up hidden cameras on Do‑hyeok’s rooftop, secretly rigging his phone to record video and audio. When Do‑hyeok’s goons attack Jae‑oh and throw him from the roof, the footage survives. It captures them admitting that the murder was ordered by Moon Do‑hyeok himself.

The video link reaches both Yoon Jun-seo (played by Kim Young-dae) and Baek Ah‑jin and although she doesn’t directly view it, she senses the weight of what’s in it. The next morning, she confronts Do‑hyeok and shows him the footage, demanding he stay away from her. This dramatic reveal finally exposes the toxicity, crimes, and manipulations behind the glamorous facade.
At that moment, Baek Ah‑jin’s hidden reality, the lies, the murders, the betrayals became public. The truth that had been buried under charm and fame finally surfaces.
After the exposure, tensions reach breaking point. The character Yoon Yoon Jun-seo, disillusioned and heartbroken, decides to confront Baek Ah‑jin once and for all. He drives with her, intending to end everything.

The car crashes off a cliff. Media and public reports initially declare both Yoon Jun-seo and Baek Ah‑jin dead. But in a chilling final twist, it’s revealed that Ah‑jin survives and Jun‑seo dies. She crawls out of the cliff, leaving Jun‑seo gravely injured behind. As she abandons him, she looks back at the crashed car, giving a faint, unsettling smile. She then vanishes without a trace.
In the very final scene of 'Dear X', Yoon Jun-seo confronts Baek Ah‑jin with proof of all her misdeeds and dark secrets. He drives a car off a cliff, apparently intending a murder‑suicide, taking them both down with him.

in the first ep she left her mom dying on the ground and went up, she was her first X. This time she left Junseo dying at the bottom and climbed up and he was her last X.

The crash kills Yoon Jun-seo, but Baek Ah‑jin survives. After climbing up, she looks down at the crash site with a strange mix of pain, relief and a bitter smile. Her reputation is shattered, her fame destroyed, but she remains unchanged along with the personality of someone without any regret.
The finale of ‘Dear X’ brings the downfall of Moon Do-hyeok - Baek Ah‑jin’s ex-husband, (played by Hong Jong-hyun), at least publicly. After Ah‑jin reveals the incriminating video that links him to Jae‑oh’s murder, Do‑hyeok loses control. Under pressure, he realises he’s cornered, the evidence is true.
Despite the exposure, however, we don’t see a formal punishment or arrest for him on‑screen. Once Baek Ah‑jin disappears, the show leaves open questions about Do‑hyeok’s fate.
