About Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom
‘Kingdom’ is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, known for his work on ‘Jersey’. This time, he steps into the action-thriller space with a story rooted in espionage and emotional stakes.
The plot follows Suri, a constable played by Vijay Deverakonda, who is recruited as a spy for a mission in Sri Lanka. He is searching for his long-lost brother, Siva, portrayed by Satyadev. His journey is disrupted when he crosses paths with Murugan, the son of cartel leader Odiyappan, played by Venkitesh.
Suri is supported by Dr Madhu, played by Bhagyashri Borse, who joins him on the mission and shares a budding romantic subplot.

Kingdom’s Box Office Performance
‘Kingdom’ opened to high expectations but received a mixed response from critics. Despite this, it found favour with a section of the audience and performed decently at the box office. The film grossed Rs 82.02 crore worldwide, surpassing the lifetime earnings of ‘Arjun Reddy’.
However, with a reported budget of Rs 150 crore, it fell short of becoming a commercial hit.
Kingdom Set for a Wider Reach on OTT
As ‘Kingdom’ makes its way to Netflix, viewers who missed it in cinemas now have the chance to watch it from home. The multilingual release aims to tap into a pan-India audience and give the film a second life on streaming.
