Three years after Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, Neeraj Pandey and his team are back with another Khakee part. Titled Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, the upcoming series features some of the top names of the Bengali entertainment industry and has Pandey as its creator. Set around the early 2000s, the Netflix show got its first teaser recently, where we see the various characters of Khakee: The Bengal Chapter.
Khakee: The Bengal Chapter- What Does The Teaser Show
The teaser for Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, lasting 1:22 minutes, starts with a panoramic view of the Howrah Bridge and its surroundings. Aided by folksy background music, the initial frames go on to show the workings of an illegal bullet-manufacturing racket and a few brutal murder sequences.
Kailash Kher's voice welcomes us as the Khakee: The Bengal Chapter teaser continues to show Jeet as an upright police officer Arjun Mitra about to take on a powerful, menacing politician, played by Prosenjit Chatterjee. Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi star Chitrangada Singh is also a political leader but it's not clear if she is righteous or equally corrupt as Chatterjee.
Aadil Zafar Khan stars as a sidekick to Saswata Chatterjee, a don, while Ritwik Bhowmik's character may be a minion who carries out Prosenjit Chatterjee's dirty work on the Kolkata streets. Meanwhile, Mimoh Chakraborty and Aakanksha Singh are a part of Jeet's police force and Pooja Chopra plays his wife.
The only dialogue in this teaser is "Jab tak kuch badlenge nahi, kuch badlega nahi (Until we change something ourselves, nothing will change), spoken by Parambrata Chattopadhyay, who might be that cop that gets killed, setting the precedence of Jeet's character.

Kher singing "Ek aur rang bhi dekhiye Bangal ka" with the quintessential Bengali tune heard during weddings and festivals- Ulu Dhoni- ends the teaser, establishing that Khakee: The Bengal Chapter will showcase the state in a separate light, away from its usual warm and welcoming image.
Will Khakee: The Bengal Chapter Be Based On True Events, Too?

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter comes three years after Netflix's Khakee: The Bihar Chapter (2022), which was set in Sheikhpura, Nalanda, and Patna districts. It dealt with the real-life Ashok Mahto gang and how Sheikhpura Superintendent of Police Amit Lodha brought them down.
As of now, it's not known if Khakee: The Bengal Chapter is also based on true events but given Pandey's penchant for bringing reality on celluloid, it is quite a possibility. The upcoming series will be based in 2003 and is expected to explore the murky face of Bengal's crime world where gangsters and politicians held power but two police officers, possibly in two different timelines, vow to smash that authority.
Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, created by Neeraj Pandey, is coming soon on Netflix. It has Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray as directors while Shital Bhatia produces it via Friday Storytellers.
