It: Welcome To Derry: If you are a fan of the infamous ‘IT’ franchise, then you are probably aware of its prequel show, ‘It: Welcome To Derry’. This horror show will take you on a journey to discover the origins of the dancing clown Pennywise. We get to see the haunted events that take place in Derry and how they are affecting people’s lives. The final episode of this first season has just been aired today. Let’s dive in to discover the 'It: Welcome To Derry’ ending explained here!
At the end of episode seven, we got to see that Pennywise has ended his brutal killing spree and was ready to retire to the gutters for another 27 years. While this was the original plan for the dancing clown, everything came crashing down as the army got involved. The general and his gang decided to let the clown run loose. During all this, they ended up destroying one of the pillars that forms a circle around Derry and acts as a cage for the creature. With the eighth and final episode of the season, we get to see Pennywise make a break for the far bank of a river surrounding Derry. While it seemed like Pennywise would break free, his attempt was left unsuccessful as kids are able to reform the cage fragment of the meteor that IT crashed to Earth in years before. They were just in time as they were moments away from getting torn apart by the creature. It gets dragged away from them into the distance, presumably to return to hibernation until the 1988 cycle starts.
With this season ending, we also got to see that there might be a possibility for time travel in the upcoming seasons.

The question that came to everyone’s mind after watching the season finale was whether there will be another season of 'It: Welcome To Derry' in the future as well. Creators Andy and Barbara Muschietti have talked about how they have a multi-season narrative tracing different eras of Derry’s haunted past. So we can hope to see more of this horror show in the future, hopefully soon!
