Invincible Season 5 Release Date: Streaming Platform, Cast and More

The dust had barely settled on the Season 4 finale this past April before fans started clamouring for more. If you were worried about Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) finally getting a moment’s peace, you can breathe a sigh of relief, Season 5 is already in the works at Prime Video. Expect the usual mixture of stomach-churning violence and the impossible moral dilemmas that have made the programme a must-watch. Since the show sticks quite closely to Robert Kirkman’s original comics, we already have a fairly solid idea of the chaos headed our way.

Is Invincible Season 5 Officially Confirmed?

Amazon didn't waste any time, rubber-stamping Season 5 back in July 2025. Deadline also dropped the news that Matthew Rhys is officially joining the team. It’s a smart move, by getting the ball rolling so early, the studio is clearly trying to avoid those massive, soul-crushing gaps between seasons that we've all had to endure before.

What is the Invincible Season Plot?

The Season 4 finale left the world in a total state of flux. Grand Regent Thragg (Lee Pace) and his remaining Viltrumite warriors have basically set up camp on Earth. Their master plan is to rebuild their numbers by mating with humans, a move that puts Mark in an impossible position as he tries to keep the peace. Mark has agreed to keep their presence on the planet a secret, but that’s a secret that surely won't stay buried for long.

Meanwhile, Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen), who now leads the Coalition of Planets, has a grim inheritance to deal with. He’s been given orders by his predecessor, Thaedus (Peter Cullen), to deploy a lethal, upgraded Scourge Virus. The problem? While it would certainly kill the Viltrumites, it would likely wipe out most of humanity as well.

If the show stays true to the source material, Season 5 will focus on the inevitable clash between Mark and Allen over this ‘lesser of two evils’ plan. We should also see the return of Dinosaurus (Rhys), the formidable, Hulk-like figure Mark nearly finished off previously. He isn't just a brute; he is a radical utilitarian who believes his extreme, often violent methods are the only way to save the planet from itself.

We might also finally see Monster Girl (Grey Griffin/Kevin Michael Richardson) and Robot (Ross Marquand) find their way home. They’ve been stranded in the Flaxan dimension since Season 3. While Cecil (Walton Goggins) decided a rescue mission was a step too far, those two aren't exactly the type to stay lost forever.

When is the Invincible Season 5 release date on Prime Video?

Because the series got the nod so early in 2025, production is already in full swing. Based on the time it usually takes to produce such high-quality animation, we are looking at an early 2027 release on Prime Video. Keep an eye out for a cheeky, self-aware teaser trailer later this year, which will likely give us the official date.
