‘Emily In Paris’ Season 3 Recap And Ending Explained

At the beginning of season three, Mindy and Benoit are still together from the previous season. Benoit persuades Mindy to quit her band and join him and Étienne (Jin Xuan Mao) after she gets an offer for a steady gig at a Chinese dinner club. However, Benoit’s jealousy flares up when Nicolas de Léon (Paul Forman), Mindy’s old classmate from boarding school, reappears.

Nico, the head of the JVMA company, begins flirting with Mindy, which makes Benoit feel insecure. This eventually leads to their breakup, and Mindy starts a relationship with Nico.

Things go smoothly until Nico and Emily clash over his plan to restructure Pierre Cadault’s (Jean-Christophe Bouvet) fashion label and remove the renowned designer from his brand. Emily and Sylvie outmanoeuvre Nico, which embarrasses him in front of his father. In retaliation, Nico creates tension between Emily and Mindy.

When Alfie informs Mindy about Nico's behaviour, she is outraged. She confronts Nico in the finale, insisting he needs to respect Emily because she is considered "family." Nico later apologises to both Mindy and Emily.

Nico’s apology to Mindy comes shortly after Benoit returns to reveal that he submitted their hit song, “Mon Soleli,” to the Eurovision song contest—and it was accepted. This means Mindy and Benoit will be spending a lot of time together next season, potentially causing more drama with her boyfriend Nico.

Sylvie And Her Husband Laurent Reignite Their Relationship

Sylvie starts season three in a relationship with Erik (Søren Bregendal), but she cannot ignore her lingering feelings for her husband, Laurent (Arnaud Binard). They have a primarily physical relationship this season, but by the end, they decide to give their marriage another shot.

Laurent plans to open a new club in Paris so he won’t have to constantly travel to Saint-Tropez for work. However, he needs an investor to fund the new venture. Sylvie’s happiness dims when she discovers the investor is Louis dé Leon, Nico’s father. Earlier in the season, Sylvie had hinted that Louis had mistreated her and abused his power when they worked together years ago. To protect Pierre’s position, Sylvie cuts ties with Louis and JVMA.

Julien Considers Leaving Agence Grateau

In ‘Emily in Paris,’ Emily’s constant stream of innovative ideas impresses Agence Grateau’s clients but can be somewhat annoying to viewers. This season, Julien's frustration with Emily's interference becomes evident. He voices his complaints to Sylvie and Luc, but Sylvie brushes off his concerns, attributing them to Emily’s hard work.

By the season finale, Julien pitches an idea for an androgynous suit to a major client, but Emily interrupts with suggestions on improving the campaign. Julien loses his temper and storms off. Although Sylvie comforts him and acknowledges that Emily’s behaviour needs addressing, Julien decides he’s had enough. He later emails an undisclosed recipient expressing his interest in leaving Agence Grateau for a new job opportunity.
