Dandadan Season 2 Episode 4 Recap

The episode kicks off with a warning of a volcanic eruption threatening the village. The head of the Kito family tries to pin the blame on Momo, believing that past sacrifices were what had kept the village protected. However, Momo interprets the legend differently and drags the corpse of the giant worm to improvise a water hose. She attempts to neutralise the lava using the Tsuchinoko’s slime, but the Kito family steps in and tries to stop her.

Just then, the shrine priest reveals himself as a disciple of Seiko and joins forces with Momo. But the tide turns again when the Evil Eye appears, prompting an unlikely alliance between Momo, the priest, and the Kito matriarch. Even together, the three struggle against the overpowering strength of the yokai and Jiji.

At the crucial moment, Seiko arrives aboard the Mantis Shrimp’s spaceship, accompanied by Mantis Shrimp and Taro. A visually intense hand-to-hand battle follows. The Evil Eye shatters Taro, unaware that talismans had been placed on him. Taro’s scattered parts then trap the yokai, securing the upper hand.

Meanwhile, Momo is frantic to find Okarun, still buried beneath the surface. She rushes to the ruins of Jiji’s house and is horrified to see the area engulfed in lava. Thinking quickly, she cools and lifts a chunk of hardened magma using the slime. Inside, she finds Okarun and Turbo Granny alive. Overwhelmed with relief, Momo embraces Okarun as they reunite safely.

Dandadan Season 2 Episode 5 Expectations

In Dandadan Season 2 Episode 5, Seiko and the shrine priest will attempt to exorcise the Evil Eye from Jiji’s body, but their efforts are expected to fall short. Despite their experience, the ritual won’t be effective because the Evil Eye isn’t just any ordinary spirit, it’s a powerful mountain yokai. If it reaches full maturity, it could become invincible. The only advantage for the group right now is that the Evil Eye is still in its early stage and hasn’t yet grown into its full strength.
