Apart from Naresh, the movie stars Amritha Aiyer as Kaveri, Hari Teja, Rao Ramesh, and Sai Kumar, among many others.

Attaching a poster of the film, the streaming platform wrote in their post, "Allari Naresh's recent blockbuster #BachhalaMalli is now streaming on @ETVWIN! Upon its release in theaters, Bachhala Malli faced mixed reactions with critics stating that the screenplay could have been better. They opined the film lacked emotional depth in establishing Malli's world and capturing his inner conflicts, which contributed to his character arc. Meanwhile, they were all praise for the performances of Naresh, Teja, Ramesh, and Rohini, who played Bachhala Malli's mother in the film. Fans and critics loved the music and cinematography, as well.

Bachhala Malli is an intense drama where Naresh plays the character of a bright student named Malli whose life goes astray when his father marries for the second time. The internal struggle results in him being enraged and rebellious all the time, neglecting his education, getting addicted to smoking and alcohol, and picking up bloody fights every now and then.

He then meets a woman, Kaveri, played by Amritha Aiyer and they both start a relationship. The woman takes it upon herself to change him but it's not an easy path. How they meander the challenges forms the rest of the story.

Bachhala Malli was filmed in Andhra Pradesh only. The team set base in Kakinada district and shot scenes in Annavaram, a village, and Tuni, a city.
