‘12A Railway Colony’, the latest Telugu horror-thriller headlined by Allari Naresh, has completed a surprisingly short theatrical journey and is now ready for its digital debut. The film originally released in cinemas on November 21, 2025, arriving with a reasonable amount of buzz thanks to the collaboration between director-editor Nani Kasaragadda and writer Dr Anil Vishwanath, the duo behind the Polimera films.
Backed by producer Srinivasaa Chitturi under the Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner and presented by Pavan Kumar, the film opened to mixed responses and struggled to maintain momentum at the box office. Its early OTT move seems to be a deliberate strategy to revive audience interest after a weak theatrical run.
The Telugu film is now premiering on Amazon Prime Video, landing on the platform just 20 days after its theatrical release. This was sooner than the anticipated four-week gap. “The early OTT arrival was unexpected but appears to be a strategic move,” the report added.
Ultimately, below-par reviews and low box-office returns led to a significantly shortened theatrical window, making streaming the film’s next big opportunity to connect with a wider audience.
The story revolves around Karthik, a carefree young man who gradually finds himself pulled into a dark and unsettling mystery. His romance with his neighbour begins innocently, but the narrative quickly descends into a maze of hidden motives and shadowy developments. Set against the backdrop of a seemingly quiet railway colony, the film leans heavily into atmospheric tension.
“What begins as a simple romance soon evolves into a complex mystery filled with hidden truths and unsettling twists,” the makers describe. As Karthik uncovers disturbing secrets about the people around him, the film becomes a suspense-driven thriller exploring the eerie layers beneath familiar spaces.

12A Railway Colony boasts an extensive ensemble cast featuring:
Behind the camera, the film is supported by a solid technical team. Cinematography is by Kushendar Ramesh Reddy, with music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. Production design is handled by Chinna, while VFX supervision comes from Triveni Kasaragadda (Neo Studios). The soundscape is crafted by Raghunath, with mixing by Krishna Raj Armugam.
