A devastating Air India crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday, June 12, 2025, claimed the lives of at least 204 people. The flight was carrying 242 passengers when it went down in the afternoon. One of the victims was Roshni Rajendra Songhare, a 27-year-old flight attendant from Maharashtra who was also known for sharing travel content on Instagram. All 12 cabin crew members, including Roshni, tragically lost their lives in the accident.
Roshni Rajendra Songhare was part of the cabin crew on the Air India flight that crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Thursday afternoon. Known online as ‘Sky Lover Her,’ Roshni had built a following of over 54,000 on Instagram. Her page, featuring more than a thousand posts, showcased glimpses of her travels and personal life, reflecting the vibrant journey of a young woman chasing her dreams.

Roshni had said goodbye to her family just a day before leaving for duty in Ahmedabad. She lived in Nav Umiya Krupa Society on Rajaji Path in Dombivli East with her father Rajendra, mother Rajshree, and brother Vignesh, as per India Today.

The family had shifted from Grant Road in Mumbai to Dombivli two years ago. Roshni completed her education in Mumbai and, despite facing financial struggles, stayed determined to fulfil her dream of becoming a flight attendant.
Her brother works for a private shipping company, while her parents are homemakers. The heartbreaking news of her passing has deeply affected the neighbourhood, which has come together to support the grieving family.
Her tragic death was confirmed by Maharashtra MLA Ravindra Chavan, who expressed his sorrow on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, "We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate death of Ms. Roshni Songhare from Dombivli in the heartbreaking plane crash in Ahmedabad. As a committed member of the flight crew, her sudden loss is truly painful. May her soul rest in peace."

The Air India flight AI171, which was en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, was piloted by Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and First Officer Clive Kunder. Senior cabin crew members on board included Shradha Dhavan and Aparna Mahadik, as per ABP News. Tragically, all cabin crew members lost their lives in the crash. Authorities confirmed that only one passenger survived the devastating crash who is a 40-year-old British national seated in 11A, who was reportedly seen walking away from the crash site in Meghani Nagar. The aircraft had struck a hostel for medical students, resulting in the deaths of at least five students on the ground.
