Sweet Zannat, a content creator from Mahendraganj in Meghalaya, discovered this the hard way when she suddenly found herself at the centre of a heated online debate. Known by her Instagram handle @sweet_zannat_12374, she creates light-hearted videos about daily life and has amassed a following of more than 364,000 people.
While her growing presence has earned her loyal audiences, it has also made her vulnerable to speculation. In late November 2025, a 19-minute private video featuring an unidentified couple began circulating online. Without evidence, rumours started linking the woman in that video to Sweet Zannat. What followed was a barrage of comments, accusations and unsolicited messages across her social media pages.
The clip rapidly travelled across platforms, with people sharing and discussing it without verifying its legitimacy. One stray rumour was enough to push Zannat into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Her posts were soon flooded with remarks asking whether she was the girl from the video, while some users tagged her repeatedly and sent distasteful messages. The assumption was completely baseless, yet the narrative continued spreading.
As her comment sections grew increasingly chaotic, Zannat chose to address the rumour head-on. In a composed and direct clarification video, she asked viewers to compare her face with that of the woman in the clip, emphasising the lack of resemblance. She questioned why people were dragging her into a situation that had nothing to do with her.
Despite the unpleasant situation, she managed to find humour in it. Zannat remarked that the woman in the viral video spoke fluent English, while she herself had only studied up to Class 12, making the comparison absurd. She quipped that the controversy was unintentionally helping her page grow, noting how the attention was boosting her views and follower count. She reposted the message on YouTube to ensure the clarification reached a wider audience.

To date, the authenticity of the video remains unclear. Some users have suggested the clip could be digitally altered or artificially generated. No official confirmation exists, and the identities of those in the video remain unknown. What is evident, however, is that Sweet Zannat had no connection with the footage and was wrongly targeted due to misinformation.
In her statement, she firmly labelled the circulating video as an AI-generated deepfake, urging people to look closely at her appearance in comparison. “Do I look exactly like the girl in that video?” she asked viewers, highlighting the absurdity of the claim.
