Ishita strongly believes that the success of any person can be judged on the basis of the amount of contribution he or she brings to the community around.

Ishita Gupta is an Indian entrepreneur and an executive of Lavonne Hospitality Pvt Ltd, where she leads the areas of people management, partnership, customers, branding, and operations. Apart from this role at the company, Ishita is committed to leading various social development programs via the Ishya Foundation, where she focuses on providing sustainable growth opportunities for marginalised communities.

Core Values And Early Inspiration Behind Ishya Foundation

Philanthropic attitude in Ishita was developed right from childhood through the teachings imparted at her own house.

• Giving Attitude: Her upbringing followed a simple rule that one should put aside ₹10 out of ₹100 earned for any noble cause. It did not matter how much was donated; what mattered was forming a responsible attitude toward society.

• Gender Neutral Approach: The Ishya Foundation is a co-educational organisation where education, healthcare and vocational training depend solely on the need of individuals without discrimination based on gender.

Key Initiatives: Project Udaan And Community Outreach

Out of many initiatives that this foundation takes up, Project Udaan is the nearest and dearest to the heart of Ishita.

• Mainstream Education: Project Udaan provides children who were either dropped from school or never enrolled in school with mainstream formal education with full sponsorships.

• Overall Development: The programme goes much beyond academics and involves exposing the children to creative activities such as theatre, dance, stitching and computing.

• Direct Involvement: During one of the summer workshops, Ishita taught dance to about 50 children for a span of six weeks.

Although social impact and hospitality seem different at first, Ishita points out that at their core they both deal with understanding the needs of the people. Hospitality has made her learn how to observe people, understand unspoken needs, and appreciate diversity.
