Hombale Films, the Kannada production house, has announced a ₹3000 crore investment in the South Indian film industry in the upcoming five years. Taking to social media, Hombale Films made the announcement on the occasion of the new year 2023.
“As we embark into the new year, we promise to produce compelling content with an immersive experience that can have a lasting memory and can leave an indelible impression upon you. With this interest in mind, we pledge to invest Rs 3,000 crore in the coming five years for a sustainable growth in the entertainment sector,” Hombale Films wrote.

Hombale Films has made a few of the biggest Kannada hits and the highest-grossing films of the country in the past few years like Kantara, K.G.F Chapter 1, and K.G.F Chapter 2. With the upcoming investment, the production house has several big ventures in hand with actors like Prabhas and debut ventures in the Tamil and Malayalam film industries.

Prabhas Starrer ‘Salaar’
Prabhas is set to star in the upcoming multilingual film Salaar directed by Prasant Neel and produced by Hombale Films. The upcoming film marks the producer-director duo’s third collaboration on a pan-Indian film after KGF: Chapter 1 and its sequel KGF: Chapter 2, which went on floors in January 2021. Recently, Prabhas also confirmed Malayalam filmmaker and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s collaboration with him on Salaar.

Tyson
Tyson, the upcoming Malayalam political thriller directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, marks Hombale Films' debut in the Malayalam film industry. The upcoming film reportedly stars a well-known South Asian actor as a protagonist and Sukumaran plays the main character. Tyson will be available in five languages and is anticipated to begin filming by the middle of 2023.
Raghu Thatha
With the social drama Raghu Thatha, starring National award–winning actress Keerthy Suresh, Hombale Films will make its debut in the Tamil film industry. Suman Kumar is the director of the film, which just had a first-look poster released.
Kantara 2
Producer Vijay Kiragandur has recently confirmed that Kantara will be getting a sequel. The producer indicated that Rishab Shetty and the Hombale Films crew will work together once again, most probably on Kantara 2. The makers are yet to make an official announcement.

K.G.F. and Kantara
Hombale Films rose to popularity pan India after the release of the 2018 Kannada period action film K.G.F Chapter 1 directed by Prashanth Neel starring Yash. The film became the highest-grossing Kannada film and turned out to be a cult hit. The film gave rise to a second instalment titled K.G.F. Chapter 2 which also became one of the highest-grossing films of 2022.

In 2022, Hombale Films gave another record-breaking film Kantara. Directed by Rishab Shetty, the action thriller film crossed ₹250 crores within a month of its release and has become one of the highest-grossing Kannada films. The film has also crossed films like RRR and K. G. F. Chapter 2 in becoming the highest rated IMDb film.
