Redmi A7 vs Redmi A7 Pro: Camera, Price, Specs And Key Differences Explained

The Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro 5G officially hit the Indian market earlier this week, on April 20, 2026. While both devices are part of Xiaomi's most affordable series, the ‘Pro’ tag this year signifies a massive leap into the 5G era, whereas the standard A7 remains the king of the first-time smartphone buyer segment. Here is the breakdown of how these two entry-level champions compare.

Redmi A7 vs Redmi A7 Pro: Key Differences

Redmi A7 vs Redmi A7 Pro Camera

Xiaomi has streamlined its camera modules this year to focus on AI processing rather than on multiple low-quality sensors.

• Redmi A7: Features a reliable 13MP AI Main Camera. It is designed for basic document scanning and daylight photography. The front features a 5MP selfie shooter optimised for clear video calls.

• Redmi A7 Pro 5G: Steps up to a 32MP AI Dual Rear Camera system. The higher resolution allows for better cropping and significantly improved night mode shots. The front camera is an 8MP sensor with enhanced AI portrait modes for social media.

Choose the Redmi A7 if you are looking for a reliable, no-frills smartphone for calling, WhatsApp, and YouTube. It is the perfect choice for elderly parents or as a secondary device where extreme affordability is the priority. Choose the Redmi A7 Pro 5G if you want a budget phone. The 6,300mAh battery provides nearly three days of light use, and the 5G connectivity ensures you can take advantage of high-speed internet.
