After Doordarshan, Ramayan & Mahabharat Will Re-Run On These Channels

The mythological shows, Ramayan and Mahabharat are back to television once again due to their immense popularity. The shows will re-run again but on different channels. Check out the whole story to find out more about it.

It hasn't been long since Ramanand Sagar's iconic show Ramayan and BR Chopra's show Mahabharat returned to the television screens after over three decades. These shows were re-telecasted on Doordarshan channel when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown to curtail the spread of COVID 19. These shows were loved so much that they have broken all the records and made fans go crazy. And no, not just in India, Ramayan has even broken the TRP record of Game of Thrones and The Big Bang Theory and become the most-watched program globally. Yes, you heard us. On April 16, the officials at Doordarshan revealed that the shows’ viewers have crossed 7.7 crore viewers mark and become the most-watched television series in the world.

Seeing this, the big channels have decided to rerun the shows on their channels. Yes, you read it right. While Star Plus has decided to re-telecast Ramayan at 7:30 pm, Colors TV has decided to re-run Mahabharat at 7 pm.

Confirming the same, the officials at the Star Plus TV posted a tweet, which reads, "Ayodhya ke Vaasi, Purusho Mein Sarvotam, Sabke Priy Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram ki Kahaani # Ramayan. 4 May Se, Somvaar Se Ravivaar Shaam 7:30 Baje StarPlus par. #RamayanOnStarPlus@arungovil12 @LahriSunil @ChikhliaDipika. Well, this is surely a great news and the entire cast of the show is elated after hearing the news. In fact, Sunil Lahiri aka Laxman is so excited that he took to social media to express his happiness and wrote, "Duniya ka sabse zyada dekha jaane wale show ka record banane wale program Ko Ek Bar aur dekhne ka aur sarhaane ka avsar#Ramayan, 4 May se har roz shaam7:30 baje @starplus par."

While many fans are eagerly looking forward to watch their favourite shows again, others slammed the channels and called them 'TRP hungry' as they decided to re-run the shows after seeing their popularity. Take a look at the comments:
