Prince Harry Welcomes Baby Boy, Hails Women's Strength For Carrying Children

Britain's Prince Harry was all praises for his wife Meghan Markle and women in general while announcing the birth of their son. The royal who said that he could not comprehend how any woman could go through labour, hailing their strength, added, the child had been "a little overdue" and that he planned to make another announcement in two days' time "so everyone can see the baby".

Asked what it was like to be present for the birth, Prince Harry laughed and said: "I haven't been at many births. This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible, and, as I said, I'm so incredibly proud of my wife."

"As every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to-die-for, so I'm just over the moon."

He added, "It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined."

"How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension," the Royal said of his wife, and women at large.

The baby is seventh-in-line to the British throne. The newborn is the Queen‘s eighth great-grandchild. The child, however, is not automatically a prince or a princess as any such title will have to be bestowed by the queen by issuing what is known as a letter patent.

Following tradition, a framed notice formally announcing the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby was placed on an easel outside of Buckingham Palace which read, “The Queen and the Royal Family are delighted at the news that Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526 am today. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

Interestingly, Baby Sussex, as the child is already being called is a product of two extremely varied cultures. His father is a prince, a symbol of British monarchy, while his mother is a self made American television star -- herself the daughter of a white father and an African American mother.

Months Of Speculations Come To An End

The months of speculations came to an end on Monday morning as the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and her husband, Britain's Prince Harry welcomed a baby boy into their family. The baby was initially supposed to be born in the last week of April but turned out to be around seven days due. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex first announced Markle’s pregnancy in October, following their royal wedding in May 2018.

Taking to their official Instagram handle, The Royal Family wrote, "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526hrs." They further added that the baby weighs 7lbs 3oz and "The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth."

The royal statement on their website further read, "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news," adding that the Duchess' mother Doria Ragland who was with the royal couple at Frogmore Cottage was "overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild."

Interestingly, news being notified to Lady Diana's siblings Earl Spencer, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes seemed to be a gentle tribute to the Prince’s late mum.
