iPhone 15 Launch: Apple To Discontinue The Sale Of Older Versions; Do You Have One Of Them?

People who love using Apple phones are eagerly waiting for the launch of the iPhone 15 series, which is only a few months away. We are excited to see what new features would be introduced and the options that will be available to buyers.

According to reports, there will be four models, including iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra), iPhone 15 Pro and vanilla iPhone 15. Latest reports going around the internet are claiming that Apple will be discontinuing a few of its older models. Do you have any of them?

Apple To Discontinue The Sale Of Older Version

If you visit the official Apple site, it is currently selling iPhone 13, iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone SE (2022) and iPhone 12. It is believed that the company would scrap the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 12 post the launch of the iPhone 15 series.

It would leave users with the option to buy the latest version or settle for older versions, including iPhone SE (2022) and iPhone 13, iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14.

It could be true because Apple had done this in the past also when it launched the iPhone 14 series in 2022. It is a marketing gimmick where the company discontinues older versions to boost the sale of the latest models. Last year, it discontinued the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 11.

With every new launch, the older model of the phone receives a price cut. In the case of iPhones, the cost can get cut up to $100. In India, the prices are expected to be cut by ₹10,000.

The estimated price of older versions will be,

• iPhone SE: ₹49,900
• iPhone 12: ₹59,900 (64GB)
• iPhone 13: ₹69,900
• iPhone 14: ₹79,900
• iPhone 14 Plus: ₹89,900
• iPhone 14 Pro: ₹1,29,900

Expectations From iPhone 15

Since Apple (Apple Watch features) announced the launch of the iPhone 15, speculations have been going around about the model. The 6.1-inch model is expected to be available at $799, and the 6.7-inch model might hit the US markets for $899.

It would look like mobiles available in iPhone 14 series with a few modifications in the design. iPhone 14 Pro models have Dynamic Island which is expected to continue with iPhone 15 as well. All the new models are expected to be equipped with a powerful and efficient OLED display driver chip compared to older models.

Many tech websites have claimed that iPhone 15 models might be available in two colours - light blue and dark pink. These models will be supporting USB-C ports.

According to rumours making rounds on the internet, the iPhone 15 series will be sleek and slip compared to the models in the iPhone 14 series. The front glass will have more curves disappearing into the frame.

iPhone 15 series is expected to launch in the US in September 2023. It will flood Indian markets (Cheapest Flea Markets in India) in August 2023. The price is expected to start at ₹77,990.
