The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) will release the rankings on August 12, 2024, putting the institutions that have demonstrated outstanding performance in teaching, research, and innovation, under the limelight. A press conference led by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be held at 3 pm on August 12. The purpose of this would be to unveil the NIRF India Rankings 2024, recognising India's top educational institutions. Post the conference, the official list will be uploaded on the official NIRF website, nirfindia.org, detailing the category-wise breakdown of the top performers. (How To Study For GRE?)

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT M) scored the top position as the best higher education institution in India last year for the fifth consecutive time. Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT M) also secured the first position in engineering for the eighth consecutive time and emerged as the country’s second-best research institution. IIT Madras was also awarded the second spot in the research category while the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru got the first position as it surpassed IIT M by 2.2 marks.

NIRF Ranking

IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, AIIMS Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) got the positions third to tenth respectively in the overall category of 2023. The top position in the medical category was also retained by its former claimer, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, followed by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (Chandigarh), Christian Medical College, and National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS, Bangalore) (NEET UG Topper List 2024), consequently.
