Navratri Colours List 2025: Celebrated with devotion and grandeur across India, Shardiya Navratri is one of the most important Hindu festivals. Each of the nine days is linked to a special colour—Yellow, Green, Grey, Orange, White, Red, Royal Blue, Pink, and Purple—that symbolises blessings, energy, and devotion. Navratri days are dedicated to worshipping Goddess Durga, and people observe the festival with great enthusiasm. While this festival is celebrated four times a year—known as Chaitra Navratri, Magha Gupt Navratri, Ashadha Gupt Navratri, and Shardiya Navratri—the most well-known Navratris are those that take place during Chaitra month and Ashwina month. This time, it will be Shardiya Navratri, which falls during the month of Ashwina, and devotees celebrate these days with utmost devotion and fervor. During this Navratri, Durga Puja is also conducted in various regions. This year, Shardiya Navratri will begin on September 22, 2025, and end on October 2, 2025, with Vijayadashami.

During these nine days and nights of Navratri, devotees worship Maa Durga through special puja rituals. Colours hold a significant meaning during this festival. To seek the blessings of each form of the Goddess, devotees wear the specific colour associated with her and take part in various ceremonies. Navratri Day 1: Goddess Shailaputri, Colour, Significance, Shubh Muhurat

On the first day of Shardiya Navratri, devotees worship Goddess Shailaputri, revered as the daughter of the mountains and a symbol of strength and devotion. The auspicious colour for this day is white, representing purity, simplicity, and a fresh beginning, setting a serene and devotional tone for the festival.

The Pratipada tithi starts at 06:24 AM on September 22 and ends at 07:12 AM on September 23. Bela (white jasmine) is the flower associated with Goddess Shailaputri, reflecting peace and purity.

Goddess Shailaputri is depicted riding a bull (Nandi) and carrying a trident (trishul) in one hand and a lotus flower in the other. She is dressed in white, symbolising calmness and spiritual strength.
