Madhuri Dixit Hosts Special Screening Of Marathi Film 15 August

Madhuri Dixit's much-awaited Kalank is already creating a lot of buzz around and now it's about her first production venture. Madhuri along with husband Sriram Nene is producing a Netflix film 15 August. She hosted a screening of her movie lately and popular Bollywood celebrities were in attendance. Right from Renuka Shahane to Vicky Kaushal to Kriti Kharbanda, celebs were a part of this special screening. Madhuri looked stunning in a white and yellow anarkali by Manish Malhotra. The brocade anarkali had minimal detailing that made the entire look stand out.

This is the first time that Madhuri is getting into the world of production and that too with husband Sriram Nene. Recently, she shared a picture from the sets of the film on her Instagram handle. She captioned it, "There’s always been a part of me that wanted to create and back meaningful films, and there couldn’t be a better starting point for me than 15 August. This is an endearing, relatable story that has been brought to life beautifully by the the talented Swapnaneel Jayakar and actors Rahul Pethe, Mrunmayee Deshpande, and Adinath Kothare."


The movie, 15 August is set in a Mumbai Chawl and it is a story of a lover who is trying win over his beloved and he ends up asking for help from the residents who come together and help him solve this mess. The events take place on the Independence day. The movie talks about freedom in different ways. Reviews of the movie have already started flowing in. This one is being called a really easy watch that takes you through a really simple story and makes you smile in the end. In an interview, Madhuri shared, “My husband and I are both Maharashtrians and we have lived that kind of life,” Dixit said. “Some of my relatives have lived in a chawl. I felt like I knew these people and there was a lot of relatability in the story. Somewhere, the film took me back to my roots.”

The movie is now streaming on Netflix. Madhuri Dixit will soon be seen in Karan Johar's multi-starrer, Kalank.
