Earlier, KKR bowled out SRH for a mere 113 after SRH captain Pat Cummins chose to bat first. Mitchell Starc delivered a stunning ball to dismiss SRH opener Abhishek Sharma in the opening over, setting the tone for KKR's dominance. They maintained tight control throughout the innings, ultimately dismissing SRH in 18.3 overs. Andre Russell was the standout bowler for KKR, taking 3 wickets for 19 runs in 2.3 overs.

In the final match, KKR got off to a flying start while chasing a modest target of 114, scoring 72 runs during the powerplay despite Sunil Narine being dismissed by Pat Cummins in the second over. Venkatesh Iyer led the charge with a half-century, his second in the playoffs this season.
Over the years, the prize money for the IPL has seen a substantial increase. According to the latest reports, the total prize pool for the teams now stands at INR 46.5 crore. The champions receive a hefty INR 20 crore, while the runners-up take home INR 13 crore. Teams finishing in third and fourth place are awarded INR 7 crore and INR 6.5 crore, respectively.

This year's IPL final features no maiden title winners, as both competing teams have previously claimed the championship twice. Shreyas Iyer, who took the Delhi Capitals to the title clash in 2020, was at the helm of Kolkata Knight Riders. Leading the Sunrisers Hyderabad was Pat Cummins, the second most expensive player in IPL history. Another Australian who made headlines is Mitch Starc, the most expensive player ever. Interestingly, the final did not feature any Indian players who are part of the T20 World Cup squad.
KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan is thrilled with the team's victory, as is their mentor, former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir. On the other hand, SRH owner Kavya Maran is in tears. While the Hyderabad team fought valiantly throughout the tournament, they were thoroughly outplayed by KKR in the final match.
