'One Vehicle, One FASTag' is a brand new policy being launched by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to enhance the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system and facilitate traffic at toll plazas. The initiative seeks to prevent users from connecting several FASTags to a single car or that use a single FASTag for multiple vehicles.
In order to make this easier, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has advised FASTag customers that they should complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) procedure for FASTag under NHAI's recommendations.
According to the latest announcement by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said on January 15, 2024, Monday, FASTags with a valid balance but a missing KYC will get blacklisted or deactivated by banks from January 31.
The user provides important personal data and supporting documentation that creates and guarantees secure transactions by completing the KYC process. The user must notify the bank as soon as possible of any changes to their KYC information.

The process of updating KYC is simple and can be done online through the official website of the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), which is the issuer of FASTags.
