• A glass bottle or jar (wide-necked if possible)
• Small pebbles or gravel
• Activated charcoal (optional but recommended)
• Well-draining potting mix (ideally one made for succulents)
• A ZZ plant cutting or small rooted plant
• A spoon or stick (to help with planting)
• A spray bottle or watering can

Step-by-Step Guide to Growing ZZ in a Bottle:

1. Pick the Right Bottle

Choose a transparent glass bottle or jar with a neck wide enough to insert the plant. Clear containers allow you to monitor root growth and soil moisture.

2. Create a Drainage Layer

Add 1–2 inches of small pebbles or gravel at the bottom. This helps excess water settle away from the roots.

3. Add Charcoal (Optional but Useful)

A thin layer of activated charcoal over the pebbles will prevent mould and keep the soil smelling fresh.

4. Add Potting Mix
