Simplifying tasks, content creation, and search across Meta platforms, Meta AI was recently introduced on WhatsApp. You can now have an interactive and elaborate experience with the new feature to use AI in group chats and more.
As per the official information web page of WhatsApp, “You can use Meta AI in your WhatsApp group chats to ask questions or get advice. Others in the chat will be able to see your messages to Meta AI as well as Meta AI's response. Meta AI is an optional service offered and managed by Meta.”
Currently available in only limited countries, this feature only supports the English language as of now. The messages and responses to your prompts are generated using a service from Meta by artificial intelligence (AI). According to the WhatsApp Help Center, “Meta AI can only read and reply to questions that mention @Meta AI, not any others. As always, your personal messages and calls remain end-to-end encrypted, meaning not even WhatsApp or Meta can see or listen to them.”
Here are some simple steps to help you understand how you can use the Whatsapp Meta AI feature in a chat group.
Type ‘@’ in the group chat of your choice and click ‘Meta AI.’ Then, read and accept the terms, if prompted. After that, enter your prompt, click the send icon and wait for AI's response to be displayed in the chat.
If you hover over the AI message, you will see a ‘down-arrow’ button. Click on it and then click on ‘Reply.’ Type your next prompt and click the send icon.
As per the website, “Meta uses AI chats consistent with Meta's Privacy Policy. By using this feature, you agree to Meta's AI Terms of Service. You have the option to delete individual chats with AIs or request the deletion of information you previously shared with Meta AI. Some messages generated by AIs might not be accurate or appropriate.”
