PM Internship Scheme 2025: Over 1.55 Lakh Candidates Register; Registration To Close On March 12, 2025

The PM Internship Scheme 2025 has garnered significant attention, with over 155,000 candidates registering to take part. Launched by the Government of India on October 3, 2024, with an aim to skill 1 crore youth and build the employment gap. This initiative further aims to provide valuable work experience and enhance the skills of students and young professionals across the nation.

About The PM Internship Scheme 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the PM Internship Scheme to offer internship opportunities to unemployed youth in India. The registration portal went live on October 12, 2024, and the last date for the registration is yet to be announced by government officials. 

“Announced in the Union Budget for 2024-25, the scheme kicked off with a pilot project for the financial year 2024-25, targeting 1.25 lakh internships. The internship opportunities span 24 sectors, including oil, gas, energy, travel, hospitality, automotive, banking and financial services, etc”, according to the Press Information Bureau, Government of India.

PM Internship Scheme 2025 Registration To Close On March 12, 2025

The registration for the PM Internship Scheme 2025 is now open again. According to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), the last date to apply is March 12, 2025. The MCA has announced that the registration process for the PM Internship Scheme 2025 is available on its official website, pminternship.mca.gov.in.

• Over five years, the scheme aims to provide 10 million young people with 12-month internship opportunities at the top 500 companies in India.  
• More than 80,000 internships are currently offered across 24 sectors by approximately 200 companies.  
• Interns will receive a total monthly stipend of ₹5,000 which is ₹500 contributed by partner companies and ₹4,500 provided by the government via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the intern’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.  
• A one-time grant of ₹6,000 will be disbursed after joining the internship, also through DBT.  
• The scheme will be implemented in two phases.
• Selections will be done through an automated system to ensure fairness.

PM Internship Scheme 2024: Eligibility Criteria 

According to the information shared by the Press Information Bureau, Government of India, below is the eligibility criteria: 

“The Pilot Project offers a 12-month internship program designed for youth aged 21 to 24 years, specifically for Indian nationals who are not employed full-time or engaged in full-time education. Candidates enrolled in online or distance learning programs are eligible to apply. Internships can be applied for through the PM Internship Portal, from October 12, 2024. The Project aims for 1.25 lakh internships for the Financial Year 2024-25.

Candidates who have passed High School or Higher Secondary School, have a certificate from an ITI, and have a diploma from a polytechnic institute. Graduated with degrees such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.” (Top 5 Colleges In Noida 2024)

How To Apply For the PM Internship Scheme 

• Visit the official website of the PM Internship Scheme: https://pminternship.mca.gov.in./login/ 
• Once the candidate lands on the home page they should click on the option called youth registration.
• Fill in all the necessary registration details, attach the necessary documents, and click on the option called Submit.
• Candidates can apply for up to 5 internship opportunities based on preferences such as location, role, sector, and qualifications.  
• After completing the form, click Submit and download the confirmation page.  
• Before submitting, candidates should check all the entered details and then click ‘Submit’ to finalise their application. Once done you can download the form as well.
