Lord Ganesha is also known as Lord Vinayaka. He symbolises knowledge and removes all obstructions that could hamper a task, also known as Vighnaharta. 

Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha. According to Hindu religious textbooks, Lord Ganesha was born on Shukla Chaturthi during Bhadrapada lunar month which is between August and September.

The best time to chant this aarti is early morning after a bath or during the evening.

This year the tithi begins at 11:02 pm on August 21 and ends at 2:57 pm on August 22.

Directions 

Make sure that Lord Ganesha’s idol is either facing east or the west direction. But install the idol only on the auspicious timings. 

Before you start the puja, do the deep-prajawalan with the sankalpa.

After installing the idol, do Avahana (invocation of Lord Vinayaka) and Pratisthapan (welcoming lord ganesha into the statue). 

Next, offer fruits, vastr, flowers, water, dhup-deep to Lord Ganesha followed by the aarti.
