If you light a ghee lamp near the money safe at your home, it is said to strengthen your financial condition and help you get rid of debts.

The northeast direction is believed to be associated with gods and goddesses, as per Vastu Shastra. Therefore, it is said that lighting a diya in this direction of your home on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras brings good health to all your family members. Astrologer Arvind said that you should light a diya made of flour in this direction.
