There are several difference between Delhi and Mumbai's Lalbaug Raja but you will notice many similarities too. Delhi's pandal is sort of a replica of the Mumbai one as the organisers wanted to bring the festive spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi to the national capital.

History of Mumbai and Delhi's Lalbaug Raja:
Established in 1934 at Lalbaug Market by the fishermen of the Koli community, the mandal was formed in the era when the freedom struggle was at its peak. Several idols have been sculpted in different forms and themes since 1934, but the devotion of Mumbaikars remained the same. The themes were in co-relation to Hindu mythology, Indian history, and current affairs.
However, in 2000, the iconic face of Lalbaugcha Raja was finalised and patented and it has remained same to this day.

Talking about Delhi's Lalbaug Raja, it is celebrating its 10th milestone year in 2026. It takes inspiration from revered Mumbai tradition and has slowly become Delhi's largest and most grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
