Turning Chores into Family Fun
1.Game of Dice
Roll a dice. That’s how many items you must donate or toss. It’s fast, fair, and oddly addictive. My brother rolled a 6 and donated six forgotten toys (after fake-crying over each one).
2.PlayingKaraoke
Play a song and start cleaning until the chorus begins. Bonus: If you sing along, you can skip one thing on your list!

3.Closet Catwalk
Turn your closet purge into a runway event. Walk the catwalk in that old hoodie from 2012. Family votes: Keep, Donate, or Yikes-No-Thanks. It’s hilariousandeffective.
4. Mystery Deculutter Box
Grab a mystery drawer or box. Pull one item at a time, share a silly memory, and decide its fate. Nostalgia + action = tidy success.
5. Shelfie Makeover Contest
Each person gets one messy shelf to make over Instagram-style. The winner gets dessert. Even our cereal shelf looked glam for a week!
6.Toss & Treat
For every 10 things you throw away or donate, treat yourself—like with ice cream, screen time, or a guilt-free nap.
7.Pack for Mars
Pretend NASA’s sending you to space. You can only pack essentials. What stays? What goes? Space-saving decisions getwayeasier.
8.Declutter Bingo
Make a bingo card: tangled charger, ugly mug, single sock. The first one to hit a line wins. Cleaning + competition.
9.Organiser Roleplay
Pretend you're a makeover expert from a cleaning show. Narrate dramatically as you ‘rescue messy zones. Laughter guaranteed.
10.Colour-Coded Cleanout
Pick a colour (say, yellow). Visually satisfying and oddly fun.Decluttering often feels like drudgery—but here are some little ways to turn it into a game, or a show, or a little party.
Are you a student with way too many pens or a parent with a whole drawer of cords (you know you are one)? You'll finally enjoy letting go.
