According to Pandit Arvind Tripathi, this year Akhuratha Sankashti Chaturthi is expected at 8:54 pm. The Chaturthi tithi will begin at 10:36 pm on Dec 17, 2024, and will end at 10:32 pm on Dec 18, 2024.

On Akhuratha Sankashti Chaturthi people worship Lord Ganesha and observe fast. It is believed that those who fast on this day are blessed with peace and prosperity, and stay free from troubles. The devotees begin their fast at sunrise and break it after observing the moon and offering prayers to Lord Ganesha. During this period, some people observe a strict water-only fast, while others opt for a partial fast. Additionally, people chant Ganesha Mantras or the name of Lord Ganesha 108 times.
