Toaster Ending Explained: Rajkummar Rao Trapped In A Deadly Game, Final Twist Changes Everything

‘Toaster,’ the movie released on Netflix on April 15, 2026, has already managed to capture everybody's attention due to its unique and mysterious plotline. The main character of the movie, Ramakant, lives by the motto that wasteful spending of money is almost considered to be a crime. This obsession makes him go through some surprising adventures because of a little appliance, a toaster. And this is how things unfold.

Toaster Ending Explained

Toaster begins with politician Amol Amre projecting a clean image while secretly being involved in a scandal, which is captured by Glen D’Souza and used to blackmail him. The story then follows Ramakant, a miser obsessed with saving money, whose life spirals when he tries to retrieve an expensive toaster gifted at a cancelled wedding. His decision to steal it back leads to a chain of chaos, especially after his landlady’s sudden death and a scuffle with Glen that accidentally results in the latter’s death. While the incident is ruled accidental, Ramakant is blackmailed by his neighbour, Malini, who witnesses everything and forces him into disturbing situations. As her violent past and unstable behaviour come to light, including multiple murders, Ramakant finds himself trapped in a dangerous web far beyond his initial, petty obsession.

Meanwhile, politician Amol Amre appoints corrupt police chief Balgaode to find the person blackmailing him, and the investigation soon leads to Ramakant after it’s discovered that the crucial memory card is hidden inside the missing toaster. While Balgaode tries to arrest him, the case collapses when Malini intervenes, though he continues to pursue the truth and eventually traces the toaster back to her. However, before he can act, Malini kills him. The story then reveals its biggest twist: there are two identical memory cards in the toaster. In the climax, Ramakant and Shilpa cleverly hand Amre the wrong card, containing Ramakant’s video, and trick him into destroying it, while his own incriminating footage remains safe. This gives the couple the upper hand, leaving the ending open-ended.

In the climax, Shilpa and Ramakant team up to confront Malini, and during the struggle, she loses her balance and falls to her death. Believing that the couple hasn’t seen his scandalous video, Amol Amre lets them go. However, the emotional conflict continues as Shilpa decides to separate from Ramakant after knowing his lies and infidelity. Ramakant admits that his biggest mistake was hiding the truth from her, expressing genuine regret. Moved by his honesty, Shilpa forgives him, and the film ends with them staying together.

However, the movie ends on a mid-credits note, showing Ramakant working in his perfume shop when the actor Pratik Gandhi enters as a customer. On selecting an expensive perfume, he unexpectedly requests Ramakant to pour just six rupees’ worth of it using currency notes. Ramakant happily complies with the request and even clicks a picture with him, finding his behaviour strange but amusing.
