The Conjuring: Last Rites is set to be a thrilling end to the Conjuring universe. It is set to be the ninth and final instalment of The Conjuring Universe, where Ed and Lorraine Warren return on screen to solve paranormal mysteries. In real life, the Warrens were paranormal investigators, and Lorraine ran the Warrens' Occult Museum, in the back of their house in Monroe, Connecticut.

The occult museum is said to be home to several haunted artefacts that the Warrens collected during their investigations.

Here are some spine-chilling glimpses of the infamous artefacts housed in the Warrens’ Occult Museum.

Haunted Artefacts Inside the Warren Museum

Annabelle Doll

The most famous and frightening of them all: a Raggedy Ann doll, that was at the centre of widespread attention after the Conjuring movies became global hits.

It is said to be possessed by the spirit of a young girl named Annabelle Higgins.1 (55)

The Warrens kept her locked in a glass case with a sign warning, “Do Not Open.” Her legend sparked multiple films in The Conjuring universe.

Unlike the doll shown in the movies, which looks scary, the actual doll looks rather harmless. However, there have been rumours of the doll moving on its own and causing harm to others.

Shadow Doll

Crafted from human bones and teeth, this unnerving artefact is very eerie. It was rumored to induce nightmares.

Visitors have sometimes said that it exuded a haunting presence.

Haunted Dinosaur

According to some reports, the museum also housed a small toy dinosaur that was haunted, and the spirit eventually haunted its 11-year-old owner. The case eventually included a demon haunting someone else and a murder.

It was the inspiration for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, which was released in 2021.2 (46)

Apart from these, the museum is said to house a self-playing organ, a conjuring mirror used to summon spirits, and other memorabilia.

Conjuring: Last Rites Based on a True Story

Conjuring: Last Rites is said to be based on the Smurl family case, where a family claimed that their home was haunted.

They experienced haunting sounds, smells and even saw apparitions.3 (28)

The Warrens eventually found the presence of four spirits and a demonic entity. We don’t know yet if there is a central object in this story, and whether it’s there in the Occult museum, but the story had received widespread attention at the time.

Can You Visit the Warrens’ Occult Museum?

Unfortunately, the museum closed due to zoning issues in 2019. With Lorraine’s death, it was speculated that it would remain closed.

In August 2025, comedian Matt Rife revealed that he and YouTube creator Elton Castee had acquired the Warrens’ famed home and occult museum, taking on the role of legal guardians for its notorious artefacts until at least 2030. Rife also shared plans to reopen the museum to the public, with visitors even getting the chance to spend a night inside.
