The first part of the film was a major hit. The magnum opus movie collected over ₹450 crores worldwide. It became one of the high-grossing Tamil films whose major business was driven by overseas and Tamil Nadu audiences.

The Indian Express spoke to trade analyst Ramesh Bala who said the film would do good in the market. It might not do as well as Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’, but it will be among the highest-grossing movies of 2023. He is also expecting that the sequel would collect as much as the first part.
