‘Mastiii 4’, the fourth instalment in one of Bollywood’s longest-running adult-comedy franchises, has not quite managed to spark the momentum it needed over its opening weekend. Released on November 21, 2025, the film reunited Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani, faces that have become synonymous with the Masti universe. However, despite the brand recall and nostalgia value, the comedy has witnessed a notable drop in its first Monday.
The film opened to modest numbers on Friday and remained flat through the weekend. While Sunday showed a slight uptick, the crash on Monday indicates weak word-of-mouth and limited audience pull.
Sunday’s collection is rough data; Monday saw a significant decline.

The Monday fall is particularly steep, suggesting that despite a known cast and established franchise appeal, ‘Mastiii 4’ has struggled to connect with its target audience.

The film arrived alongside strong competition and walked into a marketplace where last week’s releases, especially ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, continue to dominate. With neither glowing reviews nor strong word-of-mouth backing it, the adult comedy has found itself relying primarily on franchise loyalty, which seems insufficient this time around.
Moreover, the humour style that once felt refreshing in the early 2000s now risks feeling repetitive, and younger audiences, who drive weekend footfall, seem less attracted to the franchise’s older comedic template.
Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Maruti International, and Sri Adhikari Brothers, the film extends the chaotic adventures of the three central characters who have been entertaining audiences for nearly two decades. The trio’s chemistry remains intact, but early reviews hint that the writing and situational comedy may not have evolved enough to match contemporary audience sensibilities.

The ‘Masti’ series has been a prominent name in Bollywood’s comedy space since the first film was released in 2004. Its mix of adult humour, marital chaos, and light-hearted misadventures struck a chord with audiences, making the franchise one of the earliest mainstream successes in this sub-genre.
