Ashwin Kumar’s animated mythological film ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ has hit a new milestone at the box office. As per Sacnilk, the film earned ₹106.3 crore (India Net) in 13 days across all languages. The movie, presented by Hombale Films and produced by Kleem Productions, has become one of the highest-grossing animated films in Indian cinema history.
Despite facing a significant drop in revenue on its second Monday (Day 11), the film bounced back with a 7.48% rise on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, thanks to a discounted ticket offer rolled out by the makers.

According to reports, ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ has also achieved ₹121 crore gross worldwide in just 11 days, reflecting strong overseas reception along with domestic performance.
Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel praised the film’s impact on the animation genre. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "#MahavatarNarsimha… crossing the 100 crore mark is a historic moment for the Indian film industry. While many Hollywood animated films do a worldwide business of $1–2 billion, now in India, we can also make grand animated films like Mahavatar Narsimha and release them on a large scale."

Mahavatar Narsimha OTT Release Date
As per several media reports, ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ may premiere on JioHotstar for the Hindi version. Other regional versions like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada are likely to release on different streaming platforms.

Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the film draws inspiration from Vishnu Purana, Narasimha Purana, and Shrimad Bhagavata Purana. It recounts the legendary tale of Prahlad, a devout child who defeats his tyrant father Hiranyakashipu, not with power, but with faith in Lord Narayan.
