On Monday, the trailer for Rishab Shetty's upcoming film, ‘Kantara: A Legend—Chapter 1’, was released by a group of prominent actors including Hrithik Roshan, Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Sivakarthikeyan. The new movie is a prequel that delves further into the folklore introduced in the original 2022 hit, ‘Kantara’.

The trailer for ‘Kantara: A Legend-Chapter 1’ opens with a young Shiva asking why his father vanished in the middle of a Daiva Kola performance. He is then told the story of his ancestors who, with divine intervention, fought back against their oppressors.

The trailer introduces Gulshan Devaiah as a stubborn and ruthless prince and Rukmini Vasanth as a princess who falls in love with Shiva's ancestor. Serving as a prequel to Rishab Shetty's 2022 blockbuster ‘Kantara’, the upcoming film ‘Kantara: A Legend—Chapter 1’ is set for a worldwide release on October 2. 

Shetty not only stars in the lead role but also wrote and directed the movie. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda of Hombale Films, the project also sees the return of B Ajaneesh Loknath as the music composer. 

Just like its predecessor, the film delves into the rich traditions of Daiva Kola/Bhuta Kola and will be released in multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English.
