Kaantha Twitter Review: Dulquer Salmaan’s Period Thriller Wins Praise As 'Brilliantly Crafted And Gripping'

The buzz around ‘Kaantha’ is growing louder with every passing hour. Dulquer Salmaan, Rana Daggubati, and Bhagyashri Borse’s Tamil period drama has left early viewers spellbound with its striking visuals, layered storytelling, and emotionally charged performances. The film was screened on November 13, 2025, in select theatres for a limited audience and is officially set for a nationwide release on November 14, 2025.

Set in the 1950s Madras film industry, ‘Kaantha’ blends history, mystery, and emotion into a gripping whodunit. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film delves into the lives of characters caught in a web of ambition, deceit, and love during a time of immense social change.

Kaantha Twitter Review

Critics and fans alike have taken to social media to celebrate the film. Film critic Sridevi Sreedhar gave Kaantha a 4/5 rating, calling Dulquer Salmaan “the heart and soul of this film” and praising his effortless emotional range. She described the first half as “extremely gripping” and compared the second half to a “Hitchcock-style investigation.”

Similarly, Rinku Gupta rated the film 4.5/5, calling it “a riveting period drama and thrilling whodunnit with an emotional core.” She hailed Dulquer as the “show-stealer” and praised Rana Daggubati and Bhagyashri Borse for their “soul-stirring performances.”

Industry tracker Ramesh Bala went a step further, predicting that Dulquer “may win a National Award for Acting,” while commending the film’s authentic recreation of 1950s Madras and its “technically superior” presentation.
