Jana Nayagan has mostly received a good response, but viewers have noted that there is nothing new about its plot. Even though its massy presentation is enticing, there are no elements of surprise.

What was the reason for Jana Nayagan's delay?

Thalapathy Vijay's film faced repeated delays because of a dispute between the makers and the CBFC over politically sensitive dialogues. It has now received an A certificate but was previously given  a U/A certificate. The movie was delayed after an examining committee member filed an internal complaint, saying the film might hurt public sentiments.

Fans were upset over this decision, and even celebrities extended their support towards Thalapathy Vijay and the entire team of Jana Nayagan.  

Are there any changes in Jana Nayagan?

Yes, several changes were made to the film on CBFC's demand. As per reports, the name of Vijay's character has been changed, which was reported to be Thalapathy Vetri Kondan, shortened to TVK. But TVK also stands for  Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, the name of Vijay's political party.

Other changes include the deletion of the Indian flag falling on the ground, words like Bhagavatham and Ranganathar being muted, words like OM and New India being removed, among others.

The dialogue "Ambedkar sattam...to... TVK sattam" has also been replaced. The final runtime of the film is now 3 hours and 3 minutes.

Being Thalapathy Vijay's last film, fans are celebrating Jana Nayagan in theatres. It is a testament to his huge and loyal fan following that has been over the years
