Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Leak: Cyber Crime Wing Arrests 6, Removes 300 Piracy Links

In a major blow to digital pirates, the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing has arrested six individuals for allegedly leaking a high-definition (HD) version of Vijay’s highly anticipated final film, ‘Jana Nayagan’. The arrests follow a formal complaint from the film’s producers, KVN Productions, who discovered the movie circulating on various unauthorised platforms.
The six accused are currently in judicial custody as authorities continue to investigate how the footage was stolen.

Jana Nayagan Leak: TN Cyber Crime Wing Takes Tough Action
The trouble began on April 9, 2026, when clips of the film, and in some instances, the entire movie, started appearing across the internet. The police didn't waste any time. After KVN Productions flagged the breach, the State Cyber Crime Investigation Centre registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act, the Copyright Act, and the Cinematograph Act.
So far, authorities have successfully identified and taken down over 300 links that were hosting the pirated content. Special teams were formed to track the digital footprint of the leak, focusing on blocking infringing URLs and conducting forensic analysis to find the source.

How the Jana Nayagan Leak Was Traced
Investigators found that the group didn't just use standard pirate sites; they relied heavily on cloud storage platforms and shared drive links to spread the high-quality files. During the raids, police seized digital evidence from the suspects, which helped confirm their involvement in uploading and sharing the pirated copies.
The Cyber Crime Wing has also issued a stern warning to the public. They’ve advised fans and internet users to avoid downloading, streaming, or even forwarding links to the film. Piracy is a serious offence, and the police have made it clear that they are actively patrolling social media and messaging apps to catch anyone promoting the illegal content.

Jana Nayagan Cast, Plot, and Censor Board Delays
Directed by H Vinoth, ‘Jana Nayagan’ is described as a commercial entertainer with a heavy political edge. The film features a massive ensemble cast, including Thalapathy Vijay, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, and Gautham Menon, with a soundtrack composed by Anirudh.
While fans are desperate to see the film, its journey to the screen has been incredibly rocky. Originally scheduled for a grand release on January 9, 2026, the movie hit a wall when the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) flagged several scenes, suggesting they might hurt public sentiments.

A month-long legal battle followed, with the producers even taking the matter to court to secure a censor certificate. Eventually, KVN Productions withdrew their petition and agreed to let a revising committee look at the film. As of now, the board still hasn't officially certified the movie, making this HD leak even more damaging to the production.
Meanwhile, Vijay himself has remained silent on the leak. The actor is currently fully immersed in his political campaign for his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections. KVN Productions has urged everyone to delete any illegal links immediately, warning that they will continue to pursue legal action against anyone involved.
