Conclusion

Jailer 2 has got the start it needed which is strong advance booking, packed shows in Tamil Nadu, and Rajinikanth back as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. The Day 1 numbers look solid for now at Rs 24 crore+, but the real test will be the evening shows and the weekend word-of-mouth, especially with that mixed response to the second half. If the family audience picks up from Day 2, this one could easily turn into another big theatrical run for Rajinikanth. Final Day 1 figures will be updated soon.
