Avatar: The Way of Water Release Date

The film released more than a decade after the first instalment of the epic science fiction film, Avatar, which was released in 2009. Set in the mid-22nd century when humans are set to colonise Pandora, Avatar followed the story of a local tribe of the Na'vi people, a humanoid species indigenous fighting against the same. Pandora is a lush habitable moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system and humans intend to expand the mining colony in order to mine the valuable mineral unobtainium .

Release of Other Sequels In Question

Following the release of the sequel Avatar: The Way of Water this December, the third instalment is scheduled to release On December 20, 2024 and the subsequent sequels are aiming for December 2026 and December 2028. However, recently, the makers of the film have announced that if Avatar: The Way of Water doesn’t perform well at the box office, they will allegedly cancel any further sequels.
