Amazon Prime Video’s Do You Wanna Partner is the kind of show that makes you want to grab a drink with your best friend and talk about work, life, and everything in between.
Directed by Archit Kumar and Collin D’Cunha, the series throws Tamannaah Bhatia (Shikha) and Diana Penty (Anahita) into the high-stakes, male-dominated world of craft beer, and asks a simple question: what happens when two ambitious women decide to take on an industry that has no space for them?
The best part of the show is, without doubt, the chemistry between its leads. Bhatia and Penty feel like women you’d actually know—sometimes bickering, sometimes lifting each other up, always pulling in the same direction even when they don’t quite agree on the map.
Their partnership feels lived-in, which keeps the series grounded even when the script veers toward the improbable. Watching them hustle for investors, battle corporate sexism, or simply crack jokes over a pint makes the show relatable in ways that its glossier elements can’t.

Do You Wanna Partner is polished to the last detail: sharp wardrobes, chic apartments, the urban buzz of Delhi and Kolkata. It looks like a lifestyle ad, which works in its favour—this is, after all, a story about ambition, branding, and selling a dream.
The tone is breezy too. Serious issues like betrayal and gender bias are acknowledged, but the show never lets itself get too heavy. It wants you to laugh, nod along, and keep clicking 'next episode', and for the most part, it succeeds.

That said, the series does lean on tropes we’ve seen before. The duplicitous business partner, the over-the-top antagonist, the implausible 'fake boss' setup—none of these plot twists will truly surprise you.
Big themes like systemic sexism or the loneliness of entrepreneurship are touched upon but rarely explored with the depth they deserve. Some characters, especially in the supporting cast, feel like they’re there to move the story along rather than add real texture.

Still, the charm is undeniable. Shweta Tiwari’s fierce loan-shark (Laila) and Jaaved Jaaferi’s eccentric double act (David Jones) add colour whenever they appear. However, Nakuul Mehta's (Bobby Bagga) and Rannvijay Singha's character (Kabir) are not fleshed out and rarely make a memorable appearance.
It’s Bhatia and Penty who carry the show with their mix of heart, humour, and hustle. Their bond makes the series feel authentic, even when the narrative takes shortcuts. It’s this friendship—equal parts messy and inspiring—that keeps you invested.
Sufi Motiwala, who plays Penty's brother Firdaus, is another highlight of the show. His performance seems to merge with his naturally funny and witty off-screen personality. Motiwala's humorous expressions and one-liners keep the show's comedic element fresh and engaging. Neeraj Kabi delivers another standout performance as Vikram Walia. His smug demeanor and villainous charm make him a compelling antagonist.
Do You Wanna Partner isn’t trying to reinvent the genre. It’s not a hard-hitting critique of start-up culture or a deep dive into gender politics. What it is, is a light, entertaining binge that goes down easy, like a well-poured drink after a long day. It may not leave a lasting aftertaste, but in the moment, it’s refreshing. Ending with a cliffhanger, we can surely expect a season two.
