Triptii Dimri and Sidhant Chaturvedi’s romantic film ‘Dhadak 2’ is going to hit the theatres on August 1, 2025, and its initial response is already hinting towards its success. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, ‘Dhadak 2’ is a sequel to the 2018 tragic film starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. As the advance booking for the upcoming film has commenced, the initial response is coming in great. Seats are getting filled fast across cities in India, with some of them having already sold out.

‘Dhadak 2’ is creating a box office storm across cities in India with theatres getting houseful even before its release. Many seats in Chennai are already sold out, while Kolkata and Jaipur are also picking up pace at the advance booking ticket window. The advance booking for the film began from 12 PM to 1 PM, where it registered ticket sales of 1.2K on BookMyShow. It seems romance is back to rule as people flock to the theatres in large numbers.

The trailer and songs of ‘Dhadak 2’ are also well-received by the audience, which is surely helping the film to have a good start on August 1.

Makers Choose Limited Release Approach For Dhadak 2

Backed by Dharma Productions, Dhadak 2 is expected to have a limited theatrical release in India on its opening day. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the makers are opting for a limited release for the film, where it will be released on approximately 1,000 to 12,000 screens nationwide on day 1. These screenings will be concentrated in city areas and primarily at multiplex theatre chains. As per the plan, the makers will expand the number of theatres showing the film over the weekend based on audience interest and demand. If the opening day response remains good, the producers will add more screenings on weekends.

Dhadak 2 Clash With Son of Sardaar 2

The Dharma film is gearing up for a clash with Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 on Friday. Both films are showing neck-to-neck competition in the ticket pre-sales.

Dhadak 2 is the adaptation of Mari Selvaraj's 2018 Tamil movie Pariyerum Perumal. It features Triptii and Sidhant in the lead roles.
