‘Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food’ starring Nayanthara was removed from Netflix at the “licensor’s request”. The Tamil film was released on OTT on the 29th of December 2023, after its theatrical release on the 1st of December, of the same year. The movie has officially been removed from the OTT platform after facing serious backlashes for hurting Hindu sentiments. 

‘Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food’ is the story of a Hindu Brahmin girl from Tamil Nadu who wants to become a chef. In the movie, she is shown eating meat during her journey to becoming the top chef.

Padmavat

A harmless movie that was made to honour the women of Mewar in the era of Maharani Padmavati, ended up wounded in controversies. The song ‘Ghoomar’ showed the character of Padmavati dancing and singing which was opposed by Rajputs stating that their queen should not be shown this way openly.
