What is Alpha about?

The story focuses on a young assassin named Sita, who goes against her adopted father's illicit practice. She teams up with another assassin for a mission.

Alia Bhatt plays Sita, with Sharvari as another assassin and Bobby Deol as Fateh Singh Lakhawat. Anil Kapoor reprised his role as Colonel Vikrant Kaul, with Hrithik Roshan playing Kabir again for a cameo role.

The movie is directed by Shiv Rawail, who previously worked on Netflix's critically acclaimed series 'The Railway Men'. Soumil Shukla, Shridhar Raghavan and Ishita Moitra worked on the script with an original story by Uday Chopra.

Why has Alpha been getting trolled on social media?

Alpha generated mixed reactions from the audience upon its release, with several comparisons to the Dhurandhar franchise. The viewers criticised the weak storyline and action sequences, also pointing out why a bikini scene was added to the film, as it did not support the plot. Despite the trolling, Alpha has shown a decent performance at the box office, touching nearly the Rs 60 crore mark worldwide.

However, the questions for the future of the YRF Spy Universe has become the hot topic for Bollywood fans. The negative response to Alpha, War 2 and Tiger 3 has put the spy-verse in jeopardy.
